Electric Control Solutions delivered the complete electrical and automation control package for Northern Adelaide Waste Management Authorities new Fibre Polishing Plant in Edinburgh – a state-of-the-art facility co-funded by Federal and State Governments to meet new strict recycling and export standards.
The plant processes over 31,000 tonnes of paper and cardboard recyclables annually, removing more than 1,000 tonnes of contaminants.
ECS managed high voltage works, installed building power, lighting, and data systems, and fully integrated conveyors, optical sorters, balers, and compactors via a custom PLC and SCADA solution – delivering a fully automated, high-performance facility that enhances recycling efficiency, reduces contamination, and supports South Australia’s commitment to a sustainable circular economy.
NAWMA has enjoyed a long and trusted partnership with ECS for its electrical requirements and had no hesitation in partnering with ECS to deliver the electrical works required for its $15m state-of-the-art fibre polishing plant. ECS delivered outstanding results from start to finish with their team delivering the expertise and precision required for a complex and high-demand project. Highlighted by handling everything from the design, engineering, installation, and commissioning of equipment with quality, efficiency, and care.
They adhered strictly to safety standards, coordinated well with all stakeholders, contractors, operations teams, and ensured maximum productivity throughout the design, supply, and installation of all the electrical requirements. Their professionalism and technical skill made them a trusted partner, and we wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again on future projects.

OGTEC had the pleasure of working alongside ECS on the recent capital upgrade project at NAWMA, delivering a state-of-the-art fibre polishing facility. Throughout the project—from initial design and engineering through to installation and commissioning—ECS were professional, responsive, and easy to collaborate with.
Their team consistently met the high standards required for a project of this complexity, showing strong coordination and technical expertise every step of the way. At OGTEC, we deliver major infrastructure projects across Australia and look forward to involving ECS in future opportunities.

Pellenc ST supplied advanced sorting equipment for a fibre polishing plant at NAWMA where the commissioning went very smooth, thanks to the good collaboration with ECS. The people at ECS were professional, quick in response and very knowledgeable. This allowed us to have a rapid installation, startup up and commissioning of the equipment. Despite the complexity of the equipment supplied by Pellenc ST, NAWMA is now getting the best information driven data out of their system thanks to the people of ECS. I’m looking forward to future collaborations.
